You would die, Jorts. This bird flu is almost always fatal to cats when they catch it, and they can spread it to their humans. It's more important than ever to keep cats indoors whenever possible

Several farm workers got the bird flu. The virus transmits in the dust of bird poop and is airborne. Not that they will tell us to mask up even outdoors. They don’t care about us. How do we expect them to care about migrant farm workers.

Please don't do that either; humans may not be obviously symptomatic, but could still be contagious, and may carry fomites on their clothes.

Giving them PPE would probably be very helpful though.
