Chris is my spouse, but I agree. Jason kept repeating "I'm just trying to tell you I respect you" and anything I tried to say in response was met with the metaphorical "hand".

Chris has learned a lot about power dynamics, but not all, and this is hard for him. Maybe he'll hear what you're saying.
