To be clear b/c people are asking: no "Enabling Act" style bill has been introduced in the US to my knowledge. I'm saying that every time Rs push a policy (like eliminating birthright citizenship), we come closer. We have to call our reps every damn time to tell them to block those attempts.

For example, calls in response to the news today are a clear signal that you do not intend to comply with this kind of proclamation, so they shouldn't let it happen. Let them know they'll have a fight on their hands if they try.

I do also want to point out that an Enabling Act type bill isn’t what we should be looking for. Sure, it could possibly come up, and they absolutely could play the long game. Though I’d expect something like that to come up through the states. We should be watching what they are currently proposing.

Look at Project 2025. Look at KOSA. Those are your “Enabling Act” analogues. And I do actually mean “look at Project 2025.” Read the proposals. Don’t just pick up the 920 page volume and say, “This is the issue.” Know what’s being proposed.
