This pharos always makes be slightly ashamed of the fact that for some reason I only found out about it on social media a couple of years ago in spite of living in Kent for 12 years and that my grandfather's first UK home was in military housing in Dover Castle. (Aged 8, he saw Bleriot's plane.)

It stands 15.8 m high. Roman fabric survives to 12.5 m. The upper level was reconstructed for use as a bell tower for the adjacent Anglo-Saxon church. One of a pair built on the headland flanking the Roman port of Dubris (Dover). More: https://artsandculture.google.com/story/NQUR8Lcnz98KIg
