Yep, I have a number of blocks and mutes but it seems unavoidable. People taking screenshots of the ~news~ really doesn't help either.

Also I guess your tweet, and my reply, will get through most people's filter lists, reminding them of the mere concept of ~news~ as it did me.

I sort of feel it is. I've had to remove some people I genuinely like from my feed because they continually post about current affairs. But I'm happier for it and if I remove myself from this platform then I'd see nothing.

I also mute every single jorno on sight. With a few small exceptions.

@aendra.com set up the news feed which is the exact opposite and also x block which Detects screenshots from apps using machine learning.

I had a "newsmedia" label built into XBlock for awhile but the error rate was too high, kept getting false positives for big walls of text. Might try to return that at some point.

oh that’s neat - glad it worked well. I’ve just massively expanded my mutes, and taking a bit of a hardline approach to anything that does get through - we’ll see. Like my silly little chats and interesting posts on here don’t wanna have to quit 🥹
