Here's some true history for you, something we're constantly told is UNtrue --> The founders did NOT belong to or support political party control of govt functions and power. They, in fact, WARNED us against allowing it. Beginning c1832, after they died off, we decided to ignore those warnings. 1/

2/ The founders' intent was atomized, not concentrated, power. Party concentrates that power, alternately, in half of a body, thus making irrelevant the other half. The founders wanted collaboration (among ALL), not games played simply to grab the brass ring of control of power.

This concentration of power led to Congress, via party allegiance and alignment across branches, to cede much of its powers to the presidency. That progression has led us to where we are -- a wannabe (gonnabe?) dictator who intimidates all Rs into loyalty.

Receipts: Jefferson and Washington 👇, two of the founders with, yes, different political PHILOSOPHIES (not parties). Oh, and in Washington’s quote (from his Farewell Address), he actually predicted a party (the Rs) who’d give “absolute power” to an “individual” (Trump).

We must fix this nightmare. If we don't remove parties from CONTROL of power, if we don't re-atomize power such that ALL members of a body are equal and ALL members of a body decide everything by a vote of ALL, if we don't ban closed primaries & partisan gerrymandering, you can expect another Trump.
