The thrust of this point by Popehat and others is that political problems must be solved by political means.

The judges won’t save America, because only America can save America. That is, the voters.

I see your point, and to an extent agree (see my follow-up skeet). But the power to define norms and, if it comes to it, stage general strikes to penalize their subversion, ultimately comes from the people.

But yes I think you generally are right and we underrate the importance of judges.

I think he perhaps underrates the degree to which the judges can *help*, but ultimately the cavalry isn’t coming. It’s up to us.
