I feel like I need to add here based on a lot of jokes in these replies/QT that although Julianne Moore’s dad is one of those mutts with Irish/German/Welsh etc ancestry, she is mainly of Scottish descent. Her mom immigrated from Scotland. That’s actually the plot of one of her kids books.
