These are usually very small drives that report a larger size. They look fine until you try to write beyond their tiny capacity.

Afaik the software inside it will tell you it’s 2TB but once you try filling it for more than a couple of kb some errors will start showing up

Simple, it'll be a 16GB card (if you're very lucky), every extra bit will silently fail. They simply hack the firmware to report larger sizes. Try some of these tools on it to prove that. https://www.maketecheasier.com/check-sd-card-speed-capacity/
