Here are the current specs:
- 11MP Kodak CCD full frame (36mm x 24mm) sensor
- 30MS/s ADC x2
- Zynq 7010 ARM + FPGA SoC
- 512MB DDR3
- 3.4" 480x480 MIPI-DSI LCD up to 1000nits
- 6Wh battery
- Paw-shaped button layout
- Compatible with manual E-mount lenses

Let's talk about the design a little bit. The goal of the project is to build a... camera, for fun, mostly. There are already many great open-source cameras (like ones based on RPi Camera), even when I started this project back in 2017. So, I wanted to make it a bit different from existing ones...

One way is to make it an interchangeable lens camera that's compatible with existing DSLR/ MLIC lenses. This also makes the camera potentially much more fun to use and more useful: I can switch between plenty of different lenses. This does require me to use a large sensor: preferably 36mm x 24mm

The following is a comparison between a (slightly broken) 36x24 sensor and a 1/2" sensor. The original RPi camera uses a 1/4" sensor, and the RPi HQ camera also only uses a 1/2.3" sensor, so they are even smaller than the small one in the photo. Actually about 30X smaller in area.

Your project make me want to try at some point to fit an APS-C CMOS (hopefully that is simpler on the electronics side) inside a Soviet rangefinder that has a broken shutter

If it is smaller than the shutter it should be doable to make it sit at the right depth in the camera
