Years ago I remember going out to look at the audience before a News Quiz recording with the late great Jeremy Hardy who’s only comment was “all these bastards think we’re on 10k each a show”

As part of a family that has been directly affected by this ongoing crisis it's astonishing how many people not involved with the industry assume you are either independently wealthy, work in tv as a hobby, or as rich as Croesus off the back of working on a few panel shows.
