Target is the easiest boycott, Amazon is hardest

it’s been months since I’ve been to Target. I really don’t see how they’d get me back in there at all, at this point.

I agree that the challenge is getting the new routines in place -- and sometimes even that doesn't work perfectly.

The fact that they're ubiquitous is one of the main reasons to support alternatives

I ditched Amazon cold turkey and haven’t looked back.Its not a big deal for me to buy direct or Walmart or eBay. It’s just force of habit that’s keeping folks hooked.

Glad to hear other people are trying to ditch Amazon! I've found eBay and Walmart's online branch tend to have most of the annoying little things it's hard to track down elsewhere/in real life.

Prime has some shows/movies I'd like to see, but we are awash in entertainment media.

Sometimes you can find them as rentals elsewhere, and a couple bucks to Bezos here and there is better than a continuous subscription.

I walked away, and I honestly don’t miss it. Use Etsy and watch PBS. It’s working for me. You don’t need as much stuff as you think.

The Amazon one is gnarly. Partner and I completely ditched the subscriptions/using it for media, and we cut our actual purchases to just a very few things per year that we flat-out can't access anywhere else...but their infrastructure pretty much runs the internet, and we use the internet a lot!

Also I hate it when I make an extra effort to purchase something direct or not-from-Amazon...and it shows up shipped from Amazon. Businesses, don't lie to me!
