If you ever used 23andMe, I suggest logging in and requesting to delete all the data they have on you, before they sell the company (and your data) to Musk or someone else.

The Mormons already have all of my parents' genetic data over at Ancestry so same difference. One can delete or avoid adding genetics but you can't decide what all your genetic relatives decide to do.
How are they in the red? Aren't they basically a monopoly? I keep hearing that even medical facilities end up using them instead of in-network test labs.
Reminder that adoptees (who did not consent to family separation or having their identities erased) are often FORCED to use these services if we want to find our own names, families, and our own medical history/risks.
No. For one thing, siblings' DNA isn't exactly the same. Siblings share only about 50% of their DNA. They have unique genomes because the sperm and egg cells they came from had unique genomes as well.
So no recourse but some protection against data surveillance cos, as a sibling, I'm somewhat removed? Is this sort of right? (Sry, not sure I'm getting the idea. 😔)
“According to WSJ, the company is now worth less than the cash it has in its reserves. Financial publications have taken to calling 23andMe a penny stock.”
I sent them a test kit a long, long time ago, but changed my mind about giving such info to a private biz like a day after, and told them so. They refunded me, and if I logged into my account it says that my test kit was damaged in transit and not tested.
