my body has a sensitivity to the carrier in my medicine, and my doc suggested otc diphenhydramine, aka benadryl, to help with red itchy welts at the injection site
was advised to take the med about 30-45 minutes before doing the injection, so the medicine has a high enough concentration in the blood to do its magic when it's needed
basically the only way to get it would be from a boutique company who has to mix it themselves, so it's not covered by medicaid, which is what im on 😅😭
If her skin is irritated she might be allergic to the carrier oil and OTC cortisone could help a bit, but otherwise not that I know of. My source is that I had similar issues with them, so she has my sympathy.
