you can whisper it if you have to to start. it's ok. Thomas Friedman wont pop out of a trash can to slap your face. You don't have to give a fuck what they say. You can laugh in your face. When people talk about something they saw in the Times you can say "you still read that fascist rag?"
remember how good it felt when it turned out everybody loved Luigi? But I bet you wouldn't have felt comfortable saying to lots of them "hey, we should murder inusrance executives in the street". People will surprise you, and they often reflexively go less far than their actual desire and belief
Not reading the NYT is fine, disagreeing with the opinion section is uncontroversial. But let's not degrade the term "fascist." NYT is centrist, perhaps center right. It openly opposed Trump and advocates for democracy. It is not, by definition, fascist.
The definition of fascism is clear, but I don't see the evidence that it applies. I invite your argument since I've presented mine, and I welcome a debate of the merits of both perspectives.
The Washington Post, that's fascist. They bent to the will of the fascist government and complied before the fascists even won the election. They are, at best, collaborators, which means active participants. I'm delighted at how many people cancelled subscriptions to that fucking rag.
The NYT published Tom Cotton calling for martial law during George Floyd, the articles that have been the evidentiary basis for all the anti-trans laws, and published the false "report" about sexual violence during October 7th. If you're not comfortable calling that fascism you're in trouble too
They also publish progressive opinion pieces. I agree with you that publishing Cotton's piece was irresponsible, but I would argue that the pieces used against trans people were misused. That's bad faith politics, not reporting.
I appreciate that they remain the only major nonpartisan outlet not owned by either a conglomerate or a billionaire. They're not affected by influences that have undetermined pretty much every other news outlet.
Those articles were full of misinformation they called members of far right anti trans groups "concerned parents" and I notice u don't mention Gaza, I think it is outrageous to claim they aren't effected but i can see you're lying to yourself so you don't have to admit a scary thing
