I'm willing to discuss whether antidepressants are overprescribed. But people aren't "addicted" to them any more than people with heart issues are "addicted" to statins. Nice to know that the new head of HHS is going to reverse a couple of decades progress in discussing mental health. - ThreadSky

If people are "addicted" to antidepressants or ADHD meds, diabetics are addicted to insulin & asthmatics are addicted to inhalers. It's a stupid concept & statement & reflects a completely ignorant belief about a complex & often misunderstood group of documented behavioral health conditions.

I also take Synthroid to stay alive as I lost my thyroid to cancer years ago. Am I addicted to that, too. No, I need both TO STAY FUCKING ALIVE!!! Both are chemical issues with my body and brain.
