UM, I had NO idea facebook was tracking everything I did on the internet. EVERYTHING. I have diligently blocked and followed all ways to try to stop this messed up social media from taking from me, but this is the final straw… THESE JERKS! AGH! [screenshots on how to do it in the comments]

I can't see "Meta Accounts Centre", but can get there via a similar route: Settings and Privacy -> Settings -> Privacy Centre -> Manage your accounts (Accounts Centre) -> Your information and permissions -> Your activity off Meta technologies. They do warn changes may take 48 hours to take effect 🙄

Years ago before I deactivated my FB account I was chatting with my dad about a lawnmower he wanted me to sell for him on eBay. He shouted over the model of the mower so I could put it in the ad. My phone was in my pocket. 20 mins later, an ad for that exact model lawnmower popped up on FB. 😬

I've got no idea. I saw the post, scrolled down for ages before I found instructions that actually fitted what I had on my screen and they still didn't fit exactly, so I figured it out and then shared my findings. Credit to the person flagging it up, just the instructions didn't fit.

I have little faith that it'll actually really stop much. Facebook is both evil and an absolute piece of crap full of junk you don't want, but all the older people are welded to it, won't move and fear change so you have to use it to keep in touch with them.

You can't keep photos on Facebook, they're lower quality when uploaded on there. You need to save them on your hard drive in their original state. And back them up, obviously.
