Possibly the only thing that might prevent this would be a fast-acting coup by the Joint Chiefs of the military. Without this, Trump will have already put in place only those most loyal to him, and his expanded powers will be virtually unlimited. He will be The First American Dictator.

I believe that, barring such a coup, Trump will be the last elected American POTUS. He'll use the gears of power to put in place his successor- though I doubt there would actually be ant clarity to this succession, as his narcissism would prevent him from even thinking about his own demise.

The US’s standing in the world will be irreparably damaged. Trump will see no personal profit or glory in defending NATO or Taiwan. Trump will abandon NATO. Putin and Ping will surely know this and will take full advantage of Trump’s cowardice and lack of vision.

Within the first two years of a Trump presidency, Taiwan will be fully PRC controlled and Europe will most likely at war with Russia.

The financial collapse that will result from this will be worldwide and long-lasting; probably generational. The European war could escalate beyond conventional arms, leading to a nuclear winter.
