So according to the article: "Only New York and New Jersey currently extend unemployment benefits to workers on strike." No idea how that actually gets applied at the moment, though?
That’s nice. But what about disabled people and how the state handles conservatorships? We’re not done. The ableism still exists. What about unemployment pay for folks who can’t get SSI because the state deems them “not disabled enough” when they have multiple diagnoses?!
What about people who got put on SSI and are no longer permitted to earn money? Every penny I make is deducted from my check. I can’t earn or save money and I just sunk $400 into my car. I’f really like to be able to ask for help and to be allowed to work for monry.
Also it’s a privilege to be in a union: so to union folks who can get paid: what are SAG AFTRA and WGA doing about those who can’t? The lack of transparency is so disappointing.
