Left out of this article is the fact that Val actually sang the songs when he played Jim Morrison in "The Doors"! All that movie star talent wrapped up in movie star good looks *and* pipes to match!
He also sang the songs in “Top Secret”. At times a difficult actor with whom to work, he was a towering talent, possessing incredible charisma and leaves a number of roles that will always be his alone.
Thank you for the gift link.
Val seems to have lived life on his own terms, following his interests, and it seems he didn't get dragged into anything he didn't want .
So that's pretty cool.
He has kids who adored him, and they got to enjoy life with their dad.
I think it was a life well-lived.
And also, it's a pretty weak-sauce mention of what's widely considered to be an iconic, show-stealing performance for the ages. The article spends more time dissing him for Batman.
I told my nephew a couple years ago, when he was yammering on about some actor, "If you haven't watched Val Kilmer in Tombstone, don't even pretend to have a valid opinion."😁 His performance in that movie remains my favorite of all time, and I don't care what anyone else thinks.
"He played the urbane, profligate gunslinger Doc Holliday in “Tombstone” (1993), a bloody western, alongside Kurt Russell, Sam Elliott and Bill Paxton as Wyatt, Virgil and Morgan Earp."

He was a fascinating guy. Too young. 😕
