Circumstances had me hanging out with Torrens one summer night around 25 years ago. We had a fantastic conversation about the show and he was beyond thrilled that I was a big fan of it despite being so much older than the intended audience. Fantastic piece of TV only the CBC could deliver.

I once had a terrible rap video about the environment on Street Cents and was paid $450 by the CBC for it. I recorded the audio at the Morningside studio in Toronto & they sent a camera crew to my town to do the video. Jonathan Torrens is now the linchpin of my Bacon Score.

This was a great show. I still remember the episode where they show new drivers how to save gas. Drive the speed limit and don’t floor it at green lights. I was too young to drive when this show came out, but they saved me money and gas because I remembered all the good advice. #GoodTV

This was a great show. We had a high school teacher who used to show us clips (probably recorded on his home VCR) as part of our careers and consumer science class. A show like this should come back since so many people could use basic advice (and add in how to protect yourself in the digital world)
