great in the Isonzo game, and while it is of course exaggerated, it's realistic enough to retain its real-life role as more trench gun than LMG

the actual Arditi loved it given its mass: a featherweight squad automatic weapon that was easy to carry while ascending a mountain. as such, lightly fucks

Now as an SMG? Mighta kicked ass. It just doesn’t hit hard enough to do basically anything to a plane, and 9 Para isn’t going to do much at trench-warfare ranges.

It’s just such an astoundingly bad idea even on paper.

I just watched a Forgotten Weapons video on this and they pointed out that ww1 planes were wood frames, wrapped in fabric so even 9mm would be enough to through and through. You just wanted to get lead moving quickly when you dove into range and back out.
