Well they are Quaker instant ones so already flavoured. I didn’t mind them but then again I haven’t had anymore 😂
Someone did send me some non-instant ones which I need to cook sometime
I’m a Yank. Illness has changed my tastes and given me time to read about Marines in the Falklands. Obsessed w this (and a lot of other offbeat food). Haven’t got the mushrooms figured out, and making the beans from scratch was not a success. Black pudding? May never get there.
You need to find a store that stocks Heinz beans. They’re the go to over here. Nobody makes their own. Mushrooms are just lightly fried in a little oil or butter.
Yup. I got the can waitin for me, givin me side-eye. Local community has a British special(i)ty section in its excellent grocery store, alongside Latino and (East) Asian— hello HP brown sauce. It _also_ has pretty strong DIY ideas. Hence the homemade beans.
I’ve had this a few times in the UK, and it’s a lot of food. I’d love to try it full of seasonings and spices, but I liked the black pudding. Beans were the weakest link each time. 🤷🏼♀️

The only thing that’s missing is the black and white pudding!

Sure, it's got brown sugar in it and they're sweet.
It doesn't mean the day's 'tooting' will be.
