This is gonna sound crazy but you should check out the anime Laid Back Camp where teenagers use public Tokyo parks to camp out and just have a nice time.

I love Laid Back Camp, but I admit I get more second hand anxiety when the conflict is "they miss camping supplies and have to really rough it" because fighting dragons is fine but no tp is the stuff of nightmares.
