I think if you click in the developer manual you'll see there's not much there, uh, there. The feds mostly deferred to the CKAN manual, but you've got to know the correct hostname, which is not api dot but rather catalog dot data dot gov.

I was just building something! It's a little confusing at first, because you'd think api dot would be ... where it is. But it's not.
