I am so proud to be a Wesleyan grad. It has stayed as committed to its values and its students as it was when I was there in the 90s, at a time when so many schools have capitulated to donors.

And I can't imagine I'm the only parent of a high schooler who has been looking very closely at how colleges and universities have treated their student protestors. Who would want to send their kid to a school that would send police to beat them up if they were peacefully protesting?

I had hoped people would be paying attention to these matters — and I’m sure they are! And I was surprised that my own uni, which handled last year *very badly*, had record apps last year.

People apply though in the Fall, so maybe we won't see changes until this year or the next? I'm sure though there will be plenty of people who still want their kids to go to the "prestige" schools no matter what, but socially conscious parents are hopefully paying attention. I've ruled out plenty.
