Your descriptions of the natural world of apalachicola in the Southern Reach books were wonderful. Perhaps Oregon is next... The water, the mist and rain...
That the trees here are nearly as populated with moss and ferns as they are with their own leaves is one of those reasons we decided to stay--pure magic. And they're four times as tall as any trees outside of Tolkien. 👍
Hello hope you are doing good. I saw your viewed my profile and I was shocked and disappointed you did not say Hi. I am looking forward to get to know you more and see where it goes. I would like you to follow and leave me a message as well I will get to you as soon as I can. See you Sherry
All trees are like this but I like how you can see more vividly with this tree on how trees are not one lone living thing but an ecosystem of many species
first time i ever saw pollarded trees was on a school trip to France, age 15. i was so fascinated and creeped out by them. did NOT know why they looked like that. It was spring break, so most of them hadn't even started leafing out yet. i made drawings in my little trip journal
That looks like it's under a power line, so it was probably the city that did it. (Based only on how often they ruin trees in my own city, which is not Portland.)
The trees in the Olympic Peninsula are just as amazing. The trees like this or what I miss about Portland and the peninsula.
My obsession had to pivot to catus since I live in Arziona now.

Since a more advanced civilization would have life extension they could wait for their plants to take over.
I see an angry tree shaking its fists at me telling me to 'get off of its land'
Lived in Portland for years, now close in suburbs and in and out of city regularly. Have never seen a tree like this. Where is it?
Seeking out useless sunlight
Moss it’s only life
wonder what it looks like at night, when all it is is shadows and shapes in the dark
Still dream about it sometimes though.

There is no joke, just a tree.
