Class unconsciousness is rampant, people refuse to acknowledge their place or needlessly complicate something that can be easily quantifiable. You are in top percentile of earners, you went to private school, you own a house, you have substantial savings. You are in a tiny hyper-privileged minority.

Anyway, the thing is, I /do/ want to talk about class as the great unifier across other social boundaries, it's just that, among other things, this country straight up lies to itself about what class they belong to like all the goddamn time.
