I loved your piece about how outrageous it was that we accepted lockdowns long after it was demonstrated that outdoor spread was negligible, and shared it widely. My timeline and friend circle was full of people shouting “MOAR RESTRICTIONS” and I thought I was going nuts.

Five years. Hard to believe. You were one of those people I really felt for isolating in a tiny city apartment. And it was only May. My rural existence made it easier although summer the hills around echoed with gun fire. Having MAGA neighbors during that election year was wild.

My sister, a huge extrovert, lives alone & was stringent abt contact despite being in the US. She put in exhausting (to me) efforts to maintain those video social connections, & still went slightly mad.

I assume you've deleted your old twitter account, but it was pretty obvious to those who followed you how hard you found that time.

It was worst for the young, early teenagers to early 30s. The educational damage and the harm to being able to empathise with others is now playing out.

This is beautiful but also scary. My OH had just finished a stripping her immune system treatment in Feb 2020, so unbeknown we had already started the isolating that was to come for all. Then everything and everyone became a risk. Oh! just reminded myself of the god awful Government food boxes.
