In Rio de Janeiro, there's a fixed extra taxi fare (usually reserved for holidays or late night rides) in December to compensate for the lack of a thirteenth salary registered workers get. Not a thing in other states, AFAIK
Gotcha -- many cabbies are just licensed drivers and aren't salaried workers under a company, so no 13th salary for them. All things considered, I think other states should follow that approach.
