I hope everyone feels reinvigorated after visiting GDC & I hope for next year you make the fact that so many can't afford, can't safely go, or otherwise are blocked from the feelings & support you're now feeling a consideration in supporting one of the most exclusionary events in games next year.

We really need a better way to meet and talk and network as an industry.
The twin engine of this and “Conventions are the best part of my job!” killed accessibility.
Employees report a sharp drop in incidents of both when working remotely. People are less likely to do it when their only access to you are channels that are recorded.
We did a lot of (ultimately useless) research and publication citing to justify keeping a robust remote option for all our conferences and meetings at a place I worked.
But there are people who center their whole lives around “the in-person conference experience.”
Ah well, there's always another time.🙂
An average EU visitor going to Gamescom pays maybe 300-1k eur (just going from what I've read tho) for everything. Hotel, flights, merch, food, whatever.
