I used to believe in unicorns π₯° I used to see them all the time π€ And little green men everytime I mowed the lawn π«£ I also used to take a lot of drugs.π₯΄If it speaks, kill it because it's russian. π«‘
Yes. If Putin feels that, as soon as they've wrapped up Kursk, they need a break. The Ukrainians are advancing on the other fronts, after all, and Russia is bleeding. But give them a month or two to lick their wounds in peace... and after that, they'll make it look like Ukraine breaks the ceasefire.
If Ukrainians set still during a Ceasefire waiting for Putin & Trump to talk and actually do a Ceasefire, they'll be waiting until Putin takes back Russian territory and then takes more Ukrainian Territory. The bombing hasn't stopped yet.
Just Trump, has he been invited to Ukraine yet so that he has first hand experience of the bombs falling? Both Trump and Vance need to have some real experience of a Ukrainians hardship.
I think the hope is that even 30 minutes is worth the chance
At least for those who still have compassion for the Ukrainians and support a cease fire
And at the end of the day I agree with your assessment and just hope I'm wrong
Yes, if it is to their long-term benefit. If they get irreversible concessions by doing so, they might just do it. Afterward, the war can always be won from an even better position.
Putin does not lack self-control nor tactical cleverness, unfortunately.
Putin is currently working on a plan to wrap Trump around his finger and, in the end, make Ukraine seem responsible for the failure to reach a ceasefire.
But as OBrien points out, Trump chickened out when Ukraine let the world see his evil.
This gives Ukraine the Biden weapons and intelligence, at least temporarily. They live to fight another day. Which is better than the alternative. We gotta help them NOW
Itβs never been about efficiency. Itβs tearing down the US strength, security, economy, health and education for the benefit of the tinpot war criminal and allow the uberrich to pick up assets cheap in a recession.
No but it's probably worth a shot, if for no other reason than to show the world what Russia is. Because the world, apparently, is slow to learn.
However, a ceasefire should be attempted when Ukraine is in a good position but no longer advancing. Not when Russia is weak or when Trump dictates it.

Putin, or whoever is playing the part, dare not stop the war. It's a massive distraction for the regime.
