anyways I believe you can force windows to keep your documents local, but idk how to do it
my windows install still has an offline account (i.e. no microsoft account) so that might be why :p

Also I have the same issue of it randomly deciding to backup folders I’ve told it not too. So this was my work around and I haven’t ever had to adjust it.

To reign in OneDrive if you have badly behaved video games that store save-files in the "Documents" folder, try adjusting the windows documents library so a non-onedrive folder is the default.

Stellaris does the same dumb thing.

Nah. It's easier to reset OneDrive to the correct settings than for me to figure out how to get the Sims 4 to read the game folder somewhere other than the Documents folder. I'm just venting on how ridiculous OneDrive gets.

Read the post again. It moved the save file. That isn't in the install folder, it's in the user's Documents directory.

That meaning wasn't clear to me from your initial post. I assume you're talking about setting OneDrive to store the files locally? I don't think there's an official way to change the save location within the filesystem. Except for symlinks, but that's definitely not official.

Right? 😂 Luckily, it was the vanilla save I created for the Cozy Celebrations event so it wasn't a big deal. I tried moving it back over but then Quest 2 wouldn't start, so I ended up just generating a new folder and doing a new save. Didn't lose much at all. But I COULD HAVE OneDrive 😡
