Storm Éowyn bearing down on Ireland. The predictions are that it will be the worst storm to hit Ireland in recent memory. Which includes Storm Ophelia, which in 2017 was the worst storm in 50 years.

Schools across the island are closed tomorrow. As are basically all public transportation and pretty much everything else, at least during the red wind warning times, and probably a couple of hours afterwards.
The silver lining is that while it is supposed to be a powerful storm it is going to be short lived. The red wind warning where we are (Kildare) is from 6a until 11a on Friday. During that time we're expecting wind gusts well over 130kph, and sustained winds in the 70-80kph range.
