I'm not usually one for medical dramas, so I didn't even consider checking it out until someone asked me about Mel. I'm glad they did, because it's really well done.
I enjoyed very much how the season ended for her, specifically. It 'worked' in a great sense, including that sort of awkward but heartfelt moment in conversation dropping another autistic signifier, then the little coda after.
Being vague b/c spoilers, but I enjoyed your article, too!
(Will be curious to hear people's thoughts about a portrayal in "Étoile," the Amazon series premiering later this month from Amy Sherman-Palladino & Dan Palladino, who created "Gilmore Girls" and "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel")
It might take me a while to get around to that one. I don't have Prime at the moment, and need to take my Palladino viewing in smaller doses. But I'll update if and when that changes.
