Do vim users still use 'hjkl' for cursor movement these days? I'm from camp emacs, but gave up on using emacs key bindings (including ^F for →) elsewhere. Too much interference with application-specific shortcuts. Not a problem with vi(m) mode?
Absolutely! I use nvim for most of my big projects and vim mode in vscodium for Python (mostly Jupyter). Oh and I have vim mode enabled on obsidian and kwrite, tho obsidian's vim mode leaves so much to be desired.
No but I'm in an endless circle of want to use (n)vim again, get tired of configuring, find a gui editor with vim mode but feels clunky and disable it... But then I miss vim again 😅
I used to use vim but then the ubuntu and debian packages decided the default config should be for vim to auto-indent code, so I can no longer just PASTE CODE in it ends up all fucked up. Of course I can alter .vimrc but most systems i deal with are ephemeral.
So after 30 years of vi/vim? I'm done.

Answer with great care lol
Thanks mate!
Vim like bindings in web browsers are nice. I appreciate the “jump to” feature the most for link navigation.
I don't think I use it anywhere else tho, I mostly live in the terminal
I'd also like to find a pointing device I can use with my foot. Having to reach for the mouse breaks my flow
If it’s jank I disable it again.
why are you judging me ok it was one little google search

It's a form of video.
Is that right, Belle?
