One of the most tragic things I encountered in the 90s was a pair of crust punks who hopped off a freight train near South Chicago Heights who assumed it was really close to Chicago because it had Chicago in the name.
Yeah, there's a formal distinction that was once also tied to a social distinction, with Marquette Park being a subset of the Chicago Lawn community area that had a strong identity. But over time, the name Marquette Park became socially coextensive with the community area it's in.
