every time I see an American try to explain how Canada "takes advantage of" the USA, I am viscerally reminded why that entire country collectively cannot be trusted with Kinder Surprise Eggs for their own safety

Yes, unfortunately. A lot of Americans are mad that we are mad that they're affecting our quality of life, and taking the Canadians saying "we hate america" as "we hate you specifically" instead of understanding nuance, generalizations, or that we clearly mean their government
Canada is a much nicer country than this one. When I went with my kid to Vancouver last summer, she was so pleased that even the signage on the bus was so polite. Here in the U.S., people are rude and the milk of human kindness has dried up badly in the last twenty years.
Anyone can buy an assault rifle in the US, but Kinder Eggs? That's what they choose to ban? I'm sure if Hershey came up w. a knockoff, it would be on the shelves.
American chocolate isn't very good because it's made with "milk products," not actually straight milk, like every other country.
I'd like to become YOUR neighbor and get the hell out of this Shithole Country in progress. Alas, my husband and I don't have the sizeable savings / income to meet the requirements for a Canada escape plan.
LITERALLY next door for us "blue-in-a-red-state" ppl! You ever know anyone with one of those antique, crusty, wheelchair-bound, off-smeling, narcoleptic, cranky, racist, sexist, foul-mouthed, seniors you are bound by law to NOT accidently leave wandering a back dirt road at 2 am? Ya, that feeling.
I'll make it worse. :D We now have a "special" USA-only version of that called "Kinder Joy". Bonus fun fact: They're banned based on a law passed in 1938.
