I mean the name one works for PC backstories as well - got bored one afternoon and expanded the family of an Exalted PC I’ve been wanting to play as for years; ended up reusing and reshuffling the names of about half the characters from this wuxia series on Netflix called “Handsome Siblings”.

I mean I’m sure the name “Cao Wuque” sounds very different to a native Chinese speaker (the family name was one I’d settled on for the PC so I just changed the family name of one of that show’s protagonists to fit).

The Pokémon point is risky depending on the age range of your group.

It's the most successful media franchise on earth and based around the marketability of their little monsters.

But I think taking inspiration from Pokémon designs is a good idea. Include a haunted chandelier in a game!

The puzzle times are greatly underestimated, players if left unchecked can spend hours overcomplicating things... which can be fun in itself

I literally ran the book Skavenslayer as a warhammer AoS adventure and it was probably one of the best games I've run.
