I gotta say some of the logic trails people are using to justify why RPG reviews by critics who haven't played the game versus critics who did play it, aren't only just as thorough and in-depth, but are even more thorough and trustworthy is kind of amazing.

To be clear I joke but pretty art does go along way.
Though as someone who has made their own ttrpg I'm more fair towards games that have bad art.
“They don’t have the bias of enjoying the game with friends”? Something like that
Reading the game is never as good as playing the game.
That said, anyone who claims such a review is as good as a played review is delusional.
