dawg this company does NOT care about community devs, the "freedom of information" or any of the shit they raised money off of. a permanent ban, with no prior warning, for using the api as unintrusively a way as possible.

It seems what this fundamentally shows is that the company is not actually serious about the protocols-not-platforms slogan, and that’s a very bad sign. I’ve mostly resisted Mastodon because it felt like a lot of nerd work and I thought my nerd time was past. Maybe not.
