At 18, it was PM Melbourne, then Albert. After his death, she leaned on John Brown, and later, Abdul Karim. While she interacted & listened to influential women, her closest advisors and confidants were always men. She always NEEDED a man by her side. Women should be able to survive on their own.

That would have been incredible. I like to think of my quantum many-worlds lives—where Carter was reelected, Gore’s presidency wasn’t stolen, etc.—to get through this. In some alternate timeline, another version of me exists where things are better for my kids. It oddly gives me peace.

Thatcher had bad policies and zero empathy, but men like Reagan and Gorbachev respected her. Soviet media called her "The Iron Lady" as an insult, but she embraced it. She out survived many men. Her policies were awful, but she was strong and not to be dismissed.
