This study reminds me of a case back in the 70s near Chicago where poor whites were offered to live in public housing next to black residents. The white folks absolutely refused and were given trailers instead despite being in the same economic class.

This explains my views on the debate about DSA’s lack of diversity. I’m like ‘DSA forms coalitions with groups rooted in BIPOC and immigrant communities. The missing part of the coalition is the white people. DSA’s role is to provide a path into intersectional coalitions for urban white people.’

As a 'grew up poor white' now living proximal to the 'soft bougie wealthy whites' this is 100%true. White folks are what is stuck, & who is being most duped by oligarchs who keep us all divided. Rich white folks are scared, & poor white folks are angry... both at non-white folks.
