It’s prudent to ask for consent before snapping. It’s also wise to don a disguise of some sort in public if you do not wish to be identified . Crowd shots are sometimes in high demand. (P.S. I’m a retired old-school print news reporter from back in the day).
Wear a mask and sunglasses and a hat. If you choose to be out in a public space, you can’t logically insist on complete privacy. You are also making a choice to view the photos/videos.
I'm so tired of a felon in our house breaking laws every day and nobody who COULD do anything about it DOING anything about it. Tired? Wait till you lose just about all you've got. Tired? It must not be hurting you, yet. Tired? Wait till we never have another election. Tired? Don't look then.
Really? I've been using a walker, re back surgery and was at the front of the line for huge protest march. Let Trump and others see me. Kids, I do understand.
In public, you do not need consent. I would much rather see protesters, their children, and strangers working together to protect our democracy. We need to fill social media with our protests, not the Felon’s face, or his cult. Resistance!
Here in the UK you can be arrested if wearing a mask at a protest. Supposedly if you are being intimidating or threatening, but you know the police won't give a damn about that if they don't feel like it...
There is no expectation of privacy out in public spaces. Some people are blurring out faces, while some protestors are wearing masks, glasses, hats, etc. As long as propaganda lies about the scale of protests, people will be getting the word out by sharing media.
I was on three german protests before the election. One time in the instagram of the local newspaper, two times on the TV news. It was my decision to be visible.
How do you know they didn’t consent? I’ve posted loads of protest photos with faces. Literally every person whose face I photographed gave me permission. I asked before taking the pics. (Including one of a kid. I said I’d make sure not to get their face, only their sign, and was told it was ok).
Counterpoint: going to a protest is like signing a public petition. You're showing up and saying, "I'm here and I'm pissed and I want change" and that requires a certain level of non-anonymity to bear weight. You're already on the internal security watch list for your social media activity anyway.
Nobody cares about your fatigue levels. We are elated that the protesters are gladly showing up ( thus implied consent ) to oppose your MAGA , cruel anti- Democracy, hate filled agenda. So you know where you can stick your bullshit fatigue level. It’s our First amendment right asshole.
The time-honored solution for that is to wear a mask. People at events get photographed. You’re hating people for doing people things, it’s an unreasonable reaction.

It's vital that everyone see evidence of resistance to this regime.
