It fed into the choreographed GOP narrative repeated ad nauseum by Fox and other RW media voices that she couldn't be trusted. They started that campaign when she was First Lady because they were pissed off at her daring to insert herself into the health care policy debate.
I’m going to suggest her speech to Ohio workers where she really mangled her pro-green jobs message and it came across like she wanted them to lose their jobs. I remember listening in that and knowing it was a car crash PR disaster.
I think he's just a misogynist who hates women. Comey just wanted to be one of the boys and hang out with the other dicks. He definitely turned out to be the biggest one and they quickly kicked him out of the club after he was no longer useful. Hope he thinks about this and where we are now forever
The fElon is cheater and a liar to his core. He cheated in 2016 and he cheated in 2024. He has admitted it several times because he spews out whatever pops into his demented arrogant mind.
The original sin was the DNC rigging the 2016 primaries so it could be “her turn”
Their hubris elected DJT & the DNC proved themselves to be Wall St’s political hedge fund as Krasnov is the best fundraiser they ever had & far preferable to a single progressive plank in their platform 💙🇺🇦🇨🇦🇲🇽💙
After watching the documentary on Martha Stewart where he single mindedly pursued her, giving immunity to all the men who did the same thing and more actively solely on the condition that they implicate her.
Can't help but think about how one of Andor's twists on SW tropes is to describe the characters and their arcs through their relationships with their mothers instead of their fathers.
The original sin started 40 years earlier, when the GOP decided Nixon’s shame, and subsequently their association with it, should never again be allowed to happen, at any cost.
If we’re gonna throw the term original sin around willy-nilly, let’s just set it back to 1491 and the ambitions of self-serving conquest and how our government was built on it and the willingness to politic, dine with, and ultimately compromise with perpetually bad-faith actors.
Nixon created the EPA. Nixon was so much better than what we've currently got it's shocking. Nixon was a crook but our current era did not start until Reagan, he's the guy who set us on the path and Trump is the logical endpoint.
Comey's motives have been examined and analyzed to death. He was an extreme boy scout and put his worship of *his own* sense of righteousness above common sense/discretion. You really want people to just change up the narrative to fit their mood of the day? No such thing as posterity?
It's idiocy mixed with self regard.
That arrogance to think that how he portrayed himself was "the important thing".
Posing for himself for the most part.
Meanwhile, who gives a f**k about his self image?
Not me.
Or like he’s different so we can’t expect normal human behavior and integrity let alone presidential vision, rigor, maturity, honesty, and accountability
Cringe inducingly so. Had a thought today that this Patel asshole isn't just this sleazy political actor, he's in charge of the FBI that's supposed to go catch serial killers. But hey, let's have an overgrown frat boy in charge of that agency
I think it's Bill Clinton winning with his New Democrats triangulation theory and no majority, which only happened because Perot spoiled it for HW Bush. But they took the lesson to mean that Clinton's New Democrats strategy was the only possible winning strategy and it's just destroyed our Party.
yep. Same for many liberal pundits. They were setting themselves up to be critical of her policies for not going 'far enough'. Now we're cutting Medicare.
If independence was the goal why did he run over and have dinner with Trump after the election? My take is he’s a humongous dick and he wanted Trump to win.
This one guy....he f**ked this country up SO BAD.
It really is unforgivable.
And I was a poll obsessive.
She was on track to win that election until he opened his big mouth.
She really was.
Infuriating, now more than ever.
I’ve always thought that Rudy’s Trump buddies @ NY Justice were going to leak damaging info and Comey wanted to get out in front of it.
I don’t excuse Comey for it but that’s been my theory.
My understanding of the momentum/polling is Comet's first letter, reopening the case, definitely hurt but was survivable. But his second letter, saying they learned nothing new, that was infuriating to the MAGA base and the fatal blow.
I knew we were screwed early in 2016, the night of the Iowa Caucuses, when Hillary Clinton "won" the state purely on the basis of five coin-flips--all of which favored her.
Freezing Sen. Sanders out of the nomination cost the Democrats the election.
Since that moment, democracy has been in peril.
This idea needs to be shut down once and for all. Biden NEVER said that he wouldn't run for a second term. No President would ever say that. It would have made him a "lame duck" the moment he took office.
People/media incapable of reading comprehension took what he did say and ran with it.
He may have never said it publicly but his major backers in 2000 understood that to be the deal. I heard it from enough of them it must have come from someone on his team.
yeah, that. But even with everything he did, Comey was a vastly more professional and reassuring FBI director than Kash Patel, who is so comically villainous he just might sneak up on us.
I think it was not holding Bush & Co for starting a war based on lies. Also not holding those who authorized torture and those who performed it to justice.
Also, he consulted with the AG who urged him not to make the statement so close to the election. And he went ahead and did it anyway. (Note: AG and candidate he tanked are both women.)
Hillary Clinton pumped money in to Trump's campaign during the Republican primary because she thought he would be easy to beat. That is the one you are looking for.
I admitted that it did not include money. But she elevated him in the primary, likely through third party ad support, and then lost to him. This is the "original sin" that brought us Trump. Comey was many months later.
I'm going to admit this doesn't go in to how they "elevated" Trump. Money would be the easiest way, but there are others. No matter what this is the original sin that brought us Trump.
But the Hillary Clinton campaign fundamentally believing that Trump would be easy to beat was the original sin. The result was a poorly run and organized campaign that never took the idea that he could win seriously.
Comments
The Rudy Guiliani thing about having something in the works cast a bit of doubt on that theory, but it still seems very plausible.
Comey did stand up to Trump's "loyalty" demand, for sure.
Their hubris elected DJT & the DNC proved themselves to be Wall St’s political hedge fund as Krasnov is the best fundraiser they ever had & far preferable to a single progressive plank in their platform 💙🇺🇦🇨🇦🇲🇽💙
Dude has a problem with women having power.
Best D candidate imo in 16 would have been @warren.senate.gov
But obama & his crew big-footed every D but Bernie (an iconoclastic independent who ran against the party) out of the race
That arrogance to think that how he portrayed himself was "the important thing".
Posing for himself for the most part.
Meanwhile, who gives a f**k about his self image?
Not me.
Before then, I didn't know that "voting for Obama a 3rd time" was a weird inside joke (because most white people voted against him twice).
It really is unforgivable.
And I was a poll obsessive.
She was on track to win that election until he opened his big mouth.
She really was.
Infuriating, now more than ever.
Remembering him going on tv talk shows afterward, smarming away like a motherf**ker....
It will always be Nader

Every republikan is a traitor.
