We in Germany try to delay the US from pulling their support and security guarantees as long as possible.
We need time to rearm.
There is a different tone in German compared to English media appearances.

Many of us have family members who gave everything to defeat Nazis, educate others about that history, and believe that in the United States of America that kind of hate has no home.
