My son started his adult life testing video games for a large studio and thought that was the best adult idea he'd ever had. That was over 20 years ago and he's just climbed the ladder from playing to designing... which is fun too. It is an industry, you know.
Be very selective? It is difficult but a really good game makes you less stressed about the ones you didn’t try. (This theory may, or may not, be viable for 100%ers).😁
I sample a lot of games and occasionally go deep on one (until something else new and shiny comes along 👀), but otherwise yeah, it's basically impossible!
Do you have a dog? Get a dog. High demand, time-consuming fluff that will bump you on the hand to get out on walkies.
But what exactly is a functional adult? :P
Let me know when you crack that particular puzzle 😋. Never mind my gaming backlog my book backlog is getting ridiculous, I keep buying them despite knowing I don't have time to read them all 🥲.
"You have books at home!"
"Yes, but not *these* books!" 😅
*currently trying that right now
my new schedule is this
5 am wake up
5-7 am play games, do chore or read
7-7:30 take a walk/run
7:30-8:00 breakfast
if working that day 8 prep for work
9-5 work
5:30 - 7 food, chat, chores, socialized and chill
7-10 art/music/watch youtube
10- Sleep
rinse repeat
You will reach the second to last phase of the gamers lifecycle. The dragon phase, where you hoard countless games with no time or intention of playing. Waiting to finally retire from society after years. And play strictly one of the 10,000 games for your twilight years
i feel like it all comes in the forms of schedules where you force yourself to incorporate gaming into your routine, but after awhile it’s less forced and more like YIPPEE ITS BALD MANS GATE TIME ‼️‼️
You can't the moment you want to have life outside video games-to-work, you've lost
The ever growing backlog will never end
I have somewhere around 1000 games just available to play but I'd rather replay something...
Boy do I have a video series for you.
But the short of it is just 2 hours a day max is all you need. You'll beat games relatively quickly up until you get to the really long ones. Godspeed.
