Trains are the same. In England they are very expensive and extremely unreliable. In Scotland, in the summer, I visited Glasgow, Dundee, Aberdeen, Inverness, Pitlochry and Perth. Every rail journey ran on time and the fares were very good value. ScotRail was renationalised in 2022.

Trains are not the best example to use. Up to now there is at least once a year strike for pay, constant staff shortages and the ticket prices are going up

Visited Scotland in the Summer and used the trains, and even with the staffing issues Scotrail has had this year, it still seemed a lot more reliable than many trains in England or Wales. It was unfortunate that many services couldn't run though so hopefully now they have found a proper solution.

I'm on your side but Dwr Cymru is also a publicly owned body afaik and the stats there speak for themselves. Nationalisation naturally isn't a cure-all in and of itself; it's a good first step but you naturally need people who aren't incompetent running the show.

There’s a good possibility that if ‘Scottish’ Labour win in 2026 then Starmer will use that as an opportunity to flog off Scottish Water. The SNP need to have a refresh of MSP’s. particularly bringing in some younger people like Flynn, or they will lose.
