Luxembourg can afford a pension more than 5x the UK, even Spain is nearly 3x.
The problem is greed.
Luxembourg £5202
Spain £2709
Belgium £2698
Liechtenstein £2148
Switzerland £2148
Iceland £1894
Denmark £1651
France £1564
Cyprus £1507

Spain isn't half that and France is lower.
Plus, and this is important, many of them are used to being economical.
Bosnia & Hersogovina - Maximum is £921 per month
Cyprus - £400 per month ( https://cyprus-mail.com/2024/01/08/cyprus-pensioners-to-see-increased-payouts-starting-january-1-2024 )
These are just 2 of the many examples. Don't trust Almond Financial.
New state pension: £221.20 per week, or £11,502 per year
Old basic state pension: £169.50 per week, or £8,814 per year
Tax the Rich.
The average pension in Bulgaria for 2024 was about £375. Nearly £1500 would be closer to the maximum possible pension (e.g. based on many years of social contributions ) and definitely not a representative figure.
Interestingly though, even for 10 years contributions one can have a reduced Lux state pension which is still MORE than the UK
Fuck the government and fuck Boris, yeah! 😆
