This is so true - and totally predicted by the leading left wing politicians of the day - Benn, Foot, Heffer et al but Blair adopted support for outsourcing under pressure from the right wing to prove “Best Value” as a successor to Tory Compulsory Competitive Tendering.
All privatisation is a con designed to keep the cost of borrowing off the public sector balance sheet. The borrowing still happens - at higher rates than the Treasury get - and we still pay for it. Contract mgmt is shambolic, outcomes are poor and profit/bottom line is king.
They thought the “free market” would fix the roads, but all it did was pave the way for billionaires to steal it all. Now, we’re stuck with busted trains and broken systems while the rich laugh all the way to the bank. Delusional.
the "efficiency" of the private sector vs. those lazy pampered public sector workers and their unions...we heard about this constantly in our corporate media
Privatization has destroyed so many things. From the insurance industry to big pharma to the privatization of infrastructure. It all sucks and his we need massive public investment to fix it, to bad the ultra wealthy also refuse to pay their taxes.
Basically privatisation means overlords and it's fitting that it came from the descendants of the British empire... Who keep this grift alive every iteration of the empire... This should be the first lesson in all history books in schools.

Time to build the world we want to live in.
This could be the best timeline instead of the worst, we just have to do the work.

Little point those criticising the lack of pothole filling when the pothole filling lacks (& lacks tax on the most damaging vehicles).
Did we have such a pothole problem when people drove minis, morris minors, three door cars?
